An e-commerce retailer was running its entire platform on an aging monolith deployed to physical servers. Scaling for peak events like promotional sales required weeks of manual provisioning. Deployments took hours and caused downtime windows that hurt revenue.
We designed a phased migration strategy using the strangler fig pattern — incrementally extracting services from the monolith while keeping the existing system live at all times. Each extracted service was deployed to AWS ECS with Terraform-managed infrastructure and full Datadog observability from day one.
